The Village of Roanoke is a very special place and has a wide variety of community organizations. Roanoke also has several neat places to visit throughout the year. Please take a moment and check out all our community has to offer!
Hunzinger Museum
The Hunzinger Museum has a collection of items depicting the history of Roanoke. Opened in 1984, the Hunzinger Museum is located in the Roanoke Park, fulfilling the dream of brothers, Frank and Sam Hunzinger. Sam Hunzinger had numerous collections, including: Native American artifacts, butterflies, an extensive stamp collection, and photographs, as well as several other items that he wished to be preserved. Sam passed away in 1957. Frank then was left the collections and at his death in 1979, he bequeathed $15,000 to help establish a museum. Today this museum is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend on Sunday between the hours of 2-5pm and hosts a variety of hobbies and collections on display.
